Satya Montgomery Named as Vice President/Chief Operating Officer at Riverside Community Care
Dedham, MA – Riverside Community Care, a leader in behavioral healthcare and human services, announced today that Satya R. Montgomery has been promoted to Vice President/Chief Operating Officer. In this newly created position, Dr. Montgomery will oversee Riverside’s services, as well as key projects and initiatives.
Dr. Montgomery has been a valued contributor to Riverside in her role as Vice President for Behavioral Health Services, overseeing Riverside’s Outpatient Behavioral Health Centers and Emergency Services, among others. She has distinguished herself in leading the transition to the use of telehealth across many different programs and furthering Riverside’s integration of mental health and addiction services.
The new position of Chief Operating Officer was created in response to Riverside’s rapid growth and expansion of services. Dr. Montgomery was chosen after a national search. Scott M. Bock will remain Founder and CEO while Marsha Medalie will continue as President.
Dr. Montgomery, who lives in central Massachusetts, has an impressive 25-year career in community-based behavioral healthcare, much of it in senior management positions. Dr. Montgomery is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker and holds a Ph.D. from Boston College Graduate School of Social Work and an M.B.A. from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Marsha Medalie, President of Riverside Community Care, remarked, “I’m very pleased that Satya will be working in this new role with our expanded executive management team. With Riverside’s extensive growth and continuing commitment to developing innovative models of service, we are glad to have additional capacity to lead the organization.”
Founder and CEO, Scott M. Bock, stated, “Having Satya join our reorganized leadership team at this exciting time is wonderful. She has proven analytical skills, a vision for integrating and creating new programs, and knows Riverside well. It will be an easy transition.”
“In my time with Riverside, I have found a culture where people are encouraged to speak up and their opinions are heard. As a woman of color, I am sensitive to making sure everyone’s voice is valued and that people are treated equally, justly, and without judgment. Through that lens, I genuinely look forward to further supporting growth and innovation at Riverside as we enhance our services and programs to meet the needs of the diverse communities we serve,” said Dr. Montgomery.
Dr. Montgomery will assume her new role in early December 2020.
