Riverside Board Retreat a Success

Riverside has a smart, large, and hard working Board of Directors! This past Saturday, our Board and executive team met with facilitators for an all-day retreat to discuss best practices for well-functioning boards and plan for the future. I could not be more energized by this fantastic group of people.

Lisa Muto, Riverside Board Chair and Acting Executive Dean at Harvard Medical School, asked the Board to engage in conversation about ways to bring the Board to the next level of effectiveness. We discussed key forces affecting our industry and the fact that Riverside is poised for tremendous growth in the coming months and years as we respond to unmet needs and prepare ourselves for the swiftly changing health and human service environment. The need to expand our fundraising capacity was a key focus of our day as well.

Riverside could not be the exceptional organization it is without the expertise and passion of our Board. I look forward to the year ahead as we work together to chart a smart course for the organization.
