Regional Employment Collaboratives Video

I am pleased to share the latest in our video series – this time featuring our Regional Employment Collaboratives. The Employment Collaboratives are a unique collaboration, working across dozens of state agencies, human service providers, workforce development organizations, and employment service providers to match individuals with disabilities to jobs in their communities. Through these efforts, hundreds of people are interviewing for jobs and are ultimately hired – Amazing!  And, as you will see, our Collaboratives also make it easier for employers – large and small– to hire the best candidates to meet their hiring needs.

The individuals we help place in jobs through the Employment Collaboratives come from a variety of backgrounds, educations, and interests. In the past, they have been held back from employment because of a disability – which may have been short term, long term, physical, or mental. Nevertheless, these candidates all share the same desire to find meaningful work.

In these videos you will meet Malcom and Steven who have both become employed through the Regional Employment Collaboratives. You will also meet their Employment Supervisor, Michael, who coordinated with our team to find open positions that Malcom and Steven would be interested in – serving as an important link in preparing the candidates for interviews and throughout the hiring process. We are so grateful to Malcolm and Steven for sharing their stories with us – I should also mention that since filming Malcom has been promoted at his store!
