Developmental & Cognitive Services
We have begun a new era – greatly expanding our services for people who have both an intellectual/developmental disability and challenging behavior. Over the next few months we are ramping up a new Behavioral Treatment Service (BTS) in Wakefield based on our long-standing program located in Norwood. These programs offer specialized clinical and support services designed to improve the quality of life for individuals who are living at home, on their own, or in a group home. BTS staffing includes clinicians and a psychiatrist working as a team.
In addition, we are hiring several clinicians to co-locate with the Department of Developmental Services to offer clinical expertise with people who have intellectual/developmental disabilities as well as individuals with a brain injury who are in need of evaluation and ongoing treatment. Finally, we are also developing a residence in Waltham for three individuals with an acquired brain injury. We are pleased to be working with the Department of Developmental Services and the Massachusetts Rehabilitation Commission on these expanded services.
