Community Support Strong for the Blue Jean Ball!
I am constantly reminded of the amazing community support we have for Riverside and the people we serve! This past Friday night’s Blue Jean Ball – held at our new venue, the Sheraton Needham, was one of those occasions.
The Blue Jean Ball has always been a special event – it looks beautiful, people have fun, it’s moving, and the evening concludes with live music and dancing. This year, I was happy to connect with old friends and meet new supporters of Riverside.
Emily, our guest speaker, shared her experience with our Life Skills program after struggling for years with anxiety, depression, and thoughts of suicide. With hard work at our Life Skills Center in Needham, Emily gained the insight and strength to finish high school and much more. Emily is now a senior at UMass Dartmouth and says she wants to be sure that Riverside grows to reach more young people who, like her, “have the potential but just need the right resources to be healthy and successful.”
We are pleased that we raised nearly $200,000 that will help us to expand our capacity to serve more children, adolescents, and adults. Thank you to everyone who helped to make it a success!
