Blue Jean Ball Raises $170K
Riverside Community Care celebrated its 6th Annual Blue Jean Ball at the Wellesley Country Club on Friday, November 16, 2012, raising $170,000 for its programs and services. Over 240 guests donned in blue jeans and jewels enjoyed an evening of delicious food, fantastic auction items and a live performance by renowned blues artist, Ray Bailey.
The guest speaker, Alison Primo, whose family received services from Riverside’s Early Intervention program in Needham, graciously shared her family’s journey of caring for her two children, both with medical and developmental challenges. Each day, Ali and her husband, Roger, opened their doors to Riverside’s Early Intervention Team of physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech therapists, and vision therapists; all who work with children between the ages of 0-3 years old. This team approach allowed the Primo family to create an environment for their family that set their children up for success as they developed.
Highlights of the auction included a once-in-a-lifetime African Safari vacation, lavish getaways to Las Vegas and Nantucket, and Luxury Box seats to a New England Patriots game. Afterwards, music from LA-based blues artist Ray Bailey had everyone celebrating out on the dance floor. The live and silent auction was conducted by Kathy Kingston of Kingston Auctions. Over $170K was raised to support Riverside’s quality behavioral healthcare and human service programs.
The Blue Jean Ball would not have been possible if not for Riverside’s generous supporters and sponsors. Thank you to our event Co-Chairs Leslie and Seth Medalie for their outstanding commitment to Riverside, and to event committee members for helping to make this such a successful event.
