Back To School

With September comes the start of school and so many of the children we serve through The Guidance Center are identified by their teachers or guidance counselors. Often the signs of a young child experiencing emotional or behavioral issues surface during the school day.  Because of this, we’re proud to partner with both the Somerville and Cambridge Public Schools.  They have requested our help in understanding and meeting the growing mental health demands within their respective communities.

In Somerville, we will be expanding on our existing services and increasing the number of students we see as referrals from their Guidance Department.  The Somerville Director of Student Services told us we are his first “go to” whenever they interact with a child that they believe could use our help.  In Cambridge, we will be providing a mix of services across schools including classroom consultations, one on one student supports, safety assessments and planning, and clinical trainings.

We are very proud to partner with these schools and to continue to serve the children and families in both school districts.
