A Circle of Care
Community Behavioral Health Centers offer timely, flexible, evidence-based treatment, including routine appointments, urgent visits, and 24/7 community-based crisis intervention as an alternative to hospital emergency departments.
The CBHC Care Team
Dedicated CBHC teams consist of the following practitioners working together to address the full scope of a person’s care according to need:
- Clinicians
- Medication prescribers
- Peer support specialists (youth, adult, or co-occurring disorder)
- Care coordinators
- Nurses
- Medical assistants
Outpatient Care
The CBHCs provide:
- Extended hours – weekdays 8 am-8 pm, weekends 9 am-5 pm
- Appointments with expertly trained treatment team members
- Walk-in appointments for urgent behavioral healthcare
- Nurses to take vital signs and coordinate lab referrals
- Group sessions and peer support
- On-site laboratory services
Mobile Crisis Intervention
Riverside responders are available 24/7 in an urgent behavioral health crisis. Our responders are extensively trained in evidence-based Signs of Suicide, trauma-informed care, and mental health first aid. Instead of going to the emergency room, services can be provided over the phone, at home, at school, or in another community setting. Responders will evaluate the situation and then make a plan involving service components of the CBHC if needed.
Additional CBHC Features
Across our CBHC services, we offer:
- Telehealth and flexible service delivery, including community locations
- Trauma-informed, evidence-based practices and peer support for all ages and types of challenges
- Language services (including ASL) via real-time video translation
- Outreach to individuals and families to engage and coordinate care
- Capability for clinically appropriate drop-offs from local law enforcement
- Coordination with additional Riverside services and those provided by other organizations
Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT)
Our medication-assisted treatment program provides a continuum of care for people in their recovery. Each team member specializes in substance use, mental health, and co-occurring treatment. We offer individual and group therapy, connections to resources via Peer Recovery Coach/Recovery Support Navigators, and medication treatment such as:
- Suboxone (buprenorphine/naloxone)
