Riverside Meets with Congressman Kennedy to Discuss Behavioral Health Service Expansion in the Blackstone Valley
On Wednesday August 5th, U.S. Congressman Joe Kennedy, representative for Massachusetts’ 4th congressional district, joined leadership from both Riverside and Milford Regional Medical Center (MRMC) to discuss Riverside’s efforts to greatly expand Child and Family Services in the Blackstone Valley area. This was a great opportunity to talk about the many obstacles children face when they need behavioral health services, and Riverside’s plans to improve access and increase the range of community based services.
We envision a center that will house an array of behavioral health services for children and families including a pediatric practice integrated with Riverside behavioral health clinicians, an expanded outpatient center that includes urgent care, a behavioral treatment services team (BTS), recovery counseling and space for groups, a therapeutic day school and a psychiatric day program for adolescents, practices specializing in helping those coping with substance issues, and hoteling space for use by Riverside’s emergency services team, state agency personnel and other behavioral health providers.
