Riverside’s 24th Annual Appreciation Evening
Newton, MA-Riverside Community Care celebrated its 24th Annual Appreciation Evening at the Marriott Hotel on Monday May 11th. Over 500 people attended to honor persons served, Friends of Riverside and employees whose accomplishments reflect the potential of the Riverside community.
Persons served were honored for their accomplishments in recovery, whether it be overcoming grief as a family, losing over 100 pounds and ending their cycle of self-harm, finding a job or using their experience to guide their peers down the path of recovery. Employees were celebrated for their incredible work ethic, community building efforts and dedication to make Riverside the best organization it can be.
Friends of Riverside were toasted for their continued support of the life-changing services Riverside provides to individuals, families and communities. Riverside was especially honored to recognize Larry Geller and the Geller family as Friends of Riverside. Larry was an outstanding board chair and board member. After his passing, we were amazed to learn that Larry left a major gift to Riverside. Larry’s gift of nearly $400,000 will help pay for a new Electronic Health Records system, which will allow improve the quality of our services, make employees’ jobs easier, and streamline how Riverside does business.
