The Riverside Life Skills School, located in Needham, provides a short-term, structured day school and treatment program for adolescents, age 12-18. The School adds an educational component to Riverside’s Life Skills day treatment program. For fifteen years, the Life Skills day program has successfully provided mental health services to children and their families, helping children remain in, or transition back to, their community. Our new, enhanced educational model helps students experiencing mental health crises, and difficulties functioning at home and school, get their lives back on track.
The Riverside Life Skills School works with families and schools to develop individualized treatment and education plans tailored to meet each student’s needs. In a supportive and highly structured learning environment, students improve their academic and social skills, develop more appropriate behavioral controls and enhance their self-esteem. Our goal is to successfully transition students back into their full-time academic settings, as soon as they make the necessary progress.
